Self care quotes are everywhere—but the kind of glow we’re all chasing? That doesn’t come from a cream or serum. Real radiance starts within. Whether it’s through faith, mindfulness, or simply caring for your inner self, when you nurture your spirit and mind, your whole being lights up.

These verses and reflections are gentle reminders that self-care isn’t just about what you put on your skin—it’s about nourishing your soul and letting that inner light shine.
I was literally just washing my face—nothing dramatic. Just going through the motions of my usual skincare routine. But somewhere in the middle of that rhythm, my mind drifted back to something I’d read in the Bible earlier.

One of the passages I came across was about Moses. I remembered how it said that when he was near to God, his face became radiant. He had to wear a veil just so people wouldn’t be overwhelmed by how much he was glowing. His face literally sparkled from that time in God’s presence.
As I washed my face, I started thinking about how much we invest in our skincare. The routines. The products. All the money and time spent trying to get our face to look clearer, brighter, more radiant. The labels promise that glow, those results, all the things we think will make us look and feel more confident.

And I’m not going to lie—there’s something relaxing and comforting about throwing on a headband, putting on a mask, lighting a candle, and taking care of yourself. It’s a reset.
But what if radiance isn’t just about the creams or what’s on the surface?

What if we treated our spiritual care like our skincare routine? What if we took a moment each day to ask, How can I be closer to God today? What kind of peace can I create in my thoughts right now? And if God isn’t part of your path, what if you simply made space for prayer, meditation, or positive reflection—whatever helps you nurture your soul? What if we made just as much room for these practices as we do for toner and serums?
I think we’d start to notice a different kind of glow. One that doesn’t just come from product, but from peace. A radiance that builds from the inside out.

Skincare still matters. Do the facial. Wear the mask. But the glow that comes from spending time with God and tending to your spirit? That’s the kind that doesn’t fade overnight. That’s the kind of glow that doesn’t need a filter. It’s the kind that doesn’t just sit on your skin. It shows up in how you speak, how you love, and how you live.
You’ll still care about your skincare. But you’ll be glowing from something deeper.
That’s the kind of glow that might just need a veil.
